I don't remember quite how I first discovered Marci and her wonderful site, but I think it was when I chose my first Internet project. And from that experience on, I have been visiting Marci's site quite often.
Marci is a first grade teacher in New Jersey who truly has been called to be a teacher. You can read all about her on her on her back to School page. She maintains one of the best sites on the Internet. As you explore it, be sure to look at the many areas that she offers for her students and parents, as well as those for fellow teachers. She has a wealth of resources that fit the needs of many fellow primary grade teachers. She has both hosted great collaborative projects and participated in many hosted by others.
Be sure to explore on your own, but, here are a few of my favorite "haunts" on her site are:
Enjoy Marci's site!

Hi Sandy! Had good fortune to attend Lucy Calkins Writing Institute at Teachers College (Columbia U. in NYC) this summer. Great experience! Now back to reality ...
ReplyDeleteI got up very early to update my Show & Tell schedule, my Schedule of Special Classes, some letters to parents that will be sent out in September - you know - the book club order form, the homework pages, etc. School starts officially on September 7th but I spent a few days there last week trying to get my room ready. This week we have some committee meetings and I will finish my room (hopefully). And so... another year begins.
I'm still eager to start with a new group of kiddos! Our school staff has been transformed (through lots of hard work)into a successful Professional Learning Community. Kid learning is the bottom line in all we do.
Love your blogging spirit! Thanks for nice things you said about our collaboration and the website. Looking forward to reading more.
Hugs, Marci McGowan
